A workplace productivity tool that uses audio recordings, AI, and collaboration theory to revolutionize meetings

Imagine never having to take notes during a meeting because your phone's recording the conversation, creating a transcript, and highlighting action items for you and your team. That's what Otter does for its users.

Problem

All of the world’s most valuable information is communicated verbally every day in meetings, phone calls, classes, and interviews. Until now, it’s been difficult to capture, review, and share these important moments accurately, all in one place.

When Otter came to us with the leading voice-transcription technology for multiple voices, we couldn’t wait to create a fun, beautiful product for teams to start using.

Process

Building a new product from scratch that has an undeniable ick factor (being recorded is scary!) meant we had a lot of research work on our hands. Here's what I planned and executed on:

  • Strategy and vision exercises

  • Success definition

  • Competitive research and design audits

  • User interviews

  • User testing

  • Observational shadowing

Impact

  • Playful vibes to brighten any meeting

  • Building trust with cycles of sharing

  • Easily edit and save the most important moments
