First off, before you even ask, you’re going to have a good time. Guaranteed, or I will give you your friendship back. Here are the rest of the details:

Location

Depending on restrictions, we’ll either be at Doc Morgan’s Pub on their beautiful outdoor patio, or at a nearby beach. Sandy Beach, for the locals. Doc Morgan’s is an absolute nonsense place where I used to work. And I had my 5th birthday at Sandy beach. So like, wow, full circle either way.

Food

If we’re at Doc’s, they’ll do an easy burger lunch for us. If we’re on the beach, we’ll make our own easy burger lunch. Of course, vegetarian and vegan options will be available.

Entertainment

Best believe we’re going to play STUMP! You will also be entertained by me and the flora and fauna of the island, and by bocce ball, wooden blocky, and an old classic: alcohol! And please bring any of your favourite lawn or beach games.

Transportation

For folks coming from the city, I strongly recommend leaving your car in Horseshoe Bay and walking on. There’s very little parking on Bowen, and both party locations are within a 2 minute walk from the ferry. Bring a car if you have a baby and/or a giant present for me, but otherwise, walking on the ferry will be cheaper and easier!

Timing

Take the 12:35 boat if you’re coming from the city. There’s a 15-minute ticket sales cutoff, so get to Horseshoe Bay by 12:15. If you’re driving, get there by 11:45– there are often overloads on summer weekends. As for when to leave, whenever you want! We’ll do lunch from 1:00 - 4:00 or so, and then head to Sandy Beach for more fun and more day drinking. Eventually we’ll get dinner. I think most people will head home on the 4:00 or 5:10 boat.

Who’s welcome

Bitch, everyone! Please bring partners and kids! Dogs won’t have the best time (they'd need to be tied up outside the patio at Doc’s). Of course: vaccinated people only! You hooligans!
